There is a secret world of stunning patterns and vivid colours locked deep within the rocks and minerals of Earth. Forged over tens of millions of years due to intense heat, pressure and mineral exchange, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks often hide a secret beauty beneath their drab exterior.

At his Burton Tower workshop and studio, Tony Vine uses traditional methods and techniques to reveal these unique displays of pattern and colour. Rough material is obtained from every Continent and each piece is hand selected to be cut, ground and polished to unveil the true splendor of the stone.

Mounted on patinated copper, brass sheet or natural wood, then set in birch frames, these beautiful pieces of stone become highly original pieces of art, as each stone is completely unique, never to be replicated

The piece you select may feature intricately patterned jaspers from around the World - Maramamba from Western Australia, Owyhee and Biggs from North America or Ocean Jasper from Madagascar. Other studio favourites include the multi-hued flashes of Labradorite, Golden Tiger Eye and a myriad of Banded, Moss and Lace Agates.

Each one-of-a-kind piece is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity that includes a full description of the stone at its heart, together with a resume of its considered holistic properties.

Tony Vine will exhibit a gallery display at Blakemere Craft Centre, Chester Road (A556), Sandiway, Northwich, Cheshire, every Saturday and Sunday throughout the Summer 2005.
